The Portuguese cavaquinho is a small tetrachord with guitar format, widely used in popular music, especially in ethnographic groups and student tunas.
With lack of literature dedicated to their learning, I propose to write this manual aims first learn their basic technique of execution.
Author
Amadeu Magalhães is a poly-instrumentalist musician specializing in Portuguese folk instruments such as Portuguese cavaquinho, braguesa, mandolin, concertina and harmonica-Bagpiper. It is a member of musician José Cid & Big Band and Dulce Pontes.
He also worked with Faust, Roberto Leal, Ne Uphill, Brigada Victor Jara, Realejo, Quadrille, Anabela, Chico César, Clau, Ginga, Paulo Bragança, Paulo de Carvalho, Terra D'water, Uxia, Zeca Medeiros, Helena Crops, Luis Dams , among others.
It teaches traditional instruments in Fado AAC Section (Associação Académica de Coimbra) since 1994 (cavaquinho, toeira, braguesa, mandolin, guitar, concertina, flute and harmonica-Bagpiper).
